POUGHKEEPSIE – City of Poughkeepsie mayoral candidate and County Legislature Chairman (District 8) Rob Rolison today announced that he has received another union endorsement from a public safety organization. Local 596, City of Poughkeepsie Professional Firefighters, pledged their support for Rolison’s candidacy.
“As a former firefighter, Rob understands the critical place of public safety in our city. We fully endorse his candidacy for Mayor of Poughkeepsie. He has had our backs in the County Legislature, and will continue to be an advocate for firefighters and public safety personnel in City Hall,” said Jim McPadden, President, Local 596.
The firefighters union, established in January 1939, currently has 57 members. The City of Poughkeepsie Fire Department is a career-staffed department offering around-the-clock protection to the Queen City’s residents.
“I am grateful to Local 596 for their support for our campaign. The individuals protecting us deserve a mayor who has experience in public safety and will stand up for those who put their lives on the line every day. With their help, and the assistance of all those invested in the public safety of our city, we will make Poughkeepsie safer, cleaner, and stronger starting on day one,” said Rolison.
