POUGHKEEPSIE – City of Poughkeepsie mayoral candidate and County Legislature Chairman Rob Rolison today announced that he has received the endorsement of Representative Sean Patrick Maloney (D-18) in his candidacy for mayor of the City of Poughkeepsie.
The endorsement was delivered Tuesday at a public event on the 300-block of Main Street. County Executive Marcus Molinaro, members of the Hudson Valley Area Labor Federation, Main Street business owners, and former Democratic candidate for mayor Lance Hardy were also in attendance.
This is not the first time Rolison and Maloney have worked together; in September, the two collaborated to secure a $625,000 COPS Hiring Program grant to fund five new officers at the City of Poughkeepsie Police Department. Rolison’s anti-crime platform can be found here.
“Rob Rolison has a proven record of working with Democrats and Republicans at every level of government to make Poughkeepsie a better place to live and work. Fellow Democrats, if you want someone who will get results for the City of Poughkeepsie, create jobs, keep the city safe, and grow our local economy — you should join me in supporting Rob Rolison for Mayor,” said Maloney.
“I am grateful to Congressman Maloney for his endorsement at this critical time in our city’s history. Poughkeepsie needs a leader who has a demonstrated track record of working across the aisle to improve public safety, balance budgets, and deliver results for our residents. This is what effective government should look like. I look forward to continuing my close partnership with Representative Maloney and all of our state and federal partners as we work to make Poughkeepsie safer, cleaner, and stronger,” said Rolison.
