POUGHKEEPSIE – County Legislature Chairman (District 8) and City of Poughkeepsie mayoral candidate Rob Rolison today announced that former Poughkeepsie mayors Colette Lafuente and Paul Buccellato have endorsed his candidacy. Lafuente led the Queen City from 1996 to 2003 and Buccellato served as chief executive from 1992 through 1993. A mayoral Primary Election will take place on Thursday, September 10.
“Rob Rolison is uniquely prepared to serve as mayor of the City of Poughkeepsie. He will make the hard decisions and will work with the citizens of the city and the Council Members to move the city forward. Rob brings his experience as chair of the county Legislature and a police officer in the Town of Poughkeepsie, which will inform his leadership of the city,” said Lafuente.
“As a former mayor, I understand what it will take to overcome Poughkeepsie’s current challenges and make our city great again. Rob is the only candidate who can put Poughkeepsie back on the right track. He has my support, and my vote, on September 10,” said Buccellato.
“The people of our city have a choice on September 10: backwards or forward, economic growth or stagnation, rise or decline. I am the only candidate in this race who will be ready on Day One to bring Poughkeepsie back. I am grateful to mayors Lafuente and Buccellato for their support, and I look forward to building on their legacy of accomplishment and results,” said Rolison.
